SOUTH CAÑON CITY

CAÑON CITY, CO

2016

Freemont Adventure Recreation developed a plan to create 20+ miles of trail accessed from Cañon City. Partnering with the Bureau of Land Management, Freemont Adventure Recreation (FAR) received a trail construction grant from Colorado Parks and Wildlife to construct 7 miles of the trail system on BLM land near Ecology Park.

Singletrack Trails was contracted by FAR to supervise and work in partnership with the Mile High Youth Corps in order to complete 7 miles of new trail construction.

This hybrid project entailed Singletrack Trails finalizing the trail alignment, operating machines to construct the trail, and supervising the Mile High Youth Corps crew during the finishing process. By leveraging Singletrack Trails to oversee the Mile High Youth Corps, Fremont Adventure Recreations was able to accomplish more trail construction, spend less time overseeing the MHYC crew, resulting in a professional and sustainable end product.
