PILOT HILL CONNECTOR TRAIL

LARMIE, WY

2021-2022

Located in the Pole Mountain Unit of the Medicine Bow National Forest 12 miles east of Laramie, Wyoming, the Pilot Hill Connector Trail is a small but vital part of the greater vision of the Pilot Hill Land Use Plan. With 44 miles of planned trails over three phases, the Pilot Hill Land Use Plan is poised to create world class trail infrastructure for the community of Laramie and visitors alike.

The Pilot Hill Connector Trail will play an important role in extending the trail network beyond the Pilot Hill area with potential connections to the Happy Jack trail system to the southeast. With a link up of both trail systems, the region would have almost 100 miles of interconnected recreational trails.

In 2021 Singletrack trails partnered with Wyoming Pathways to establish the first 2,750 ft of the Pilot Hill Connector Trail, up to the US Forest Service management boundary. The trail was constructed for beginner to intermediate riders and incorporates various bike optimized riding features. Durable hand-built techniques were used wherever possible, and we utilized a “minimal tool” rule to reduce environmental impact during trail construction. The trail is available to non-motorized travel and is multi-use.
