ROCKY KNOB BIKE PARK

BOONE, NC

2020 - 2021

Rocky Knob is an 185 acre park in Boone, NC created in 2009 with grant funding from the Bikes Belong Foundation and Specialized Bicycles. These grants were made possible through the WCTDA’s partnership with Boone Area Cyclists, a local nonprofit organization working to promote and develop cycling opportunities throughout the Boone area. Upon initial construction, the park offered 8 miles of mountain bike trails for all skill levels, 4 skills areas and a pump track. Park facilities also include a picnic shelter, bathrooms, and an adventure playground.

Beginning in 2020 Singletrack Trails partnered with Boone Area Cyclists to construct 6,500-feet of new and improved trail segments. WIth Rocky Knob Park volunteers designing the trail improvements and clearing the initial corridor, our bike park experts worked in collaboration to implement the final designs. The new trail construction and upgrades included a new green gateway trail, new blue rated jump trail, upgrades to an existing black rated jump trail and a new blue rated technical trail from the summit of the park.
