KEN-CARYL RANCH

KEN CARYL, CO

2016 - 2021

Over a two year period, Singletrack Trails worked with the Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association, on the Colorado front range to address sustainability issues with roads providing access to the community’s trail network.

The primary travel routes to access the trail network were originally old ranching roads, with alignments and grades that facilitated the fastest way from point A to B. The resulting roads saw impacts of unsustainable erosion control making travel for pedestrians, cyclists and motor vehicles difficult.

Through a combination of grading, drainage ditch installation and grade reversals, 4 priority sections of damaged road were brought up to sustainable standards while ensuring safe passage and usability for all modes of travel.
